These terms describe how WhyBee works, what we are responsible for and what the parent is responsible for.

About the service
WhyBee is an app that answers questions from children aged 3–11 at the level of their age. The service is provided by the WhyBee team. By installing and using the app you accept these terms; if you do not agree with them, do not use the app.
Who may use it
The account is created by an adult — of legal age in their country. The adult who created the account is responsible for how children in their family use the app and confirms consent to processing their data.
The answer level is chosen from the birth year the parent provides; the parent is responsible for keeping that information accurate and up to date.
A child has no separate account: the child-facing part runs inside the parent's account. The parent zone is protected by a PIN — do not share it with your child.
Account and access
Signing in requires an e-mail and a password. Keep your access safe: anyone with the password can see your family's data. The password is recovered with a code sent to your e-mail.
If you believe someone else has gained access to your account, change the password and write to us at support@whybee.app.
Answers are generated by artificial intelligence
Answers are produced by an AI model, not by a human. AI can be wrong, oversimplify and invent facts — that is a property of the technology, not a malfunction.
The app's answers are educational and are not medical, psychological, legal or other professional advice, and they do not replace an adult's explanation or a school curriculum. Verify anything that matters for health, safety or schooling against reliable sources.
Some answers and cards may suggest simple experiments and activities. They are meant to be done only together with an adult and under adult supervision: the parent judges whether an activity suits their child. We are not liable for the consequences of an activity performed without adult supervision.
Safety and moderation
Every question passes a filter before generation, and the finished answer passes an independent review; the event is written to an audit log, and the parent sees a block summary in the app. If the review is unavailable, no answer is shown at all.
That said, no automated filter is perfect, and we do not guarantee that an inappropriate answer is impossible. If you see one, write to support@whybee.app (a screenshot and the time help): we treat such reports as a priority.
If a child's questions show signs of self-harm, the app shows the child supportive text and notifies the parent. That detection is automated: it may miss or fire late, it is not monitoring of your child's wellbeing, and it does not replace an adult's attention — do not rely on it as a welfare check. The app is not an emergency service: in a real emergency, contact the emergency services in your country.
Subscription and payment
Where it is purchased — the subscription is bought through the App Store; the current price and period are shown in the app before purchase.
Auto-renewal — the subscription renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Trial period — where offered, the subscription becomes paid automatically when the trial ends — cancel before the trial is over to avoid that.
Refunds — payments and refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules; we have no access to your payment details.
Access to questions — is unlocked by the subscription; a trial period may be offered. The daily question limit, quiet hours and parental rules apply regardless of the subscription.
Acceptable use
You must not: bypass safety checks, limits or parental settings; try to obtain content harmful to children from the app; scrape data or overload the service; interfere with its operation or probe its protections; pass the service or its answers off as your own for commercial purposes.
We may restrict access if usage threatens children's safety or the service's operation, or breaches these terms.
Content and rights
The app, its texts, design and mascot belong to us. Answers generated for your child may be used for personal, family, non-commercial purposes.
Your family's data stays yours: you can export it as an archive and delete it at any time.
Availability and changes
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" — to the extent permitted by applicable law, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation: downtime, errors and maintenance are possible. Some features may be limited by the daily limit, quiet hours and parental rules.
We keep developing the app and may change or discontinue individual features, and update these terms. We will announce material changes in the app or by e-mail; the revision date is in the header. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or the consequences of decisions made on the basis of the app's answers. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription over the last 12 months.
You agree to compensate us for documented losses caused by your breach of these terms or by your use of the service in violation of the law.
If any provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to a successor (in a reorganisation, for example) provided the level of protection of your data is preserved; you may transfer yours only with our consent.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law of your country, including consumer rights.
Termination
You may stop using the app at any time and delete the account from the parent zone — your family's data is deleted with it. Cancelling the subscription is a separate step, in your Apple ID settings.
We may suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached or children's safety is at risk. If access is terminated for a breach of these terms, we do not compensate the paid period; refunds are available only under Apple's rules.
